Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo 2026 – A Celebration of Music, Culture and Community
Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo 2026 will take place in Ballina from May 2nd to 10th and is proudly hosted by the Gort na mBó/Bofield branch of Comhaltas. The heart of the Fleadh is its competitions - sean-nós and set-dancing will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 4th in the Ballina Arts Centre, céili dancing competitions will take place on Friday evening the 8th of May and all other competitions taking place on the Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th in St. Mary’s Secondary School.
Running alongside the competitions is a vibrant Community Fleadh, a festival of traditional Irish music, song, dance and culture, designed to bring the town alive with ceol agus craic. The Community Fleadh includes a fantastic range of events:
Cuimsiú Competition – A Celebration of Inclusion
Returning in 2026 following hugely successful previous years, the Cuimsiú Competition provides performance opportunities for musicians of all abilities and promotes accessibility and participation at the heart of the Fleadh.
This inspiring initiative has already received the Inclusive Award at the Mayo County Council Cathaoirleach Awards and will feature prominently throughout Community Fleadh week. More Details
