Comhaltas is the largest group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. We’re a non-profit cultural movement and there are fourteen branches in Mayo.

Cuimsiú Fleadh Competition
Mayo Comhaltas with the support of Áirc Mayo were delighted to present the Inaugural Cuimsiú Fleadh Competition for people with a disability/additional need. The Cuimsiú Fleadh Competition was an opportunity to develop participation and enjoyment of traditional Irish music arts for All in Mayo. This inaugural competition was a learning for us all. The Cuimsiú Fleadh Competition took place on Sunday 12th May 2024 in Westport. As this was the inaugural Cuimsiú competition, it was an opportunity for us to learn from this year’s competition and to build on its success. This year, the competition was be confined to Co. Mayo.
Due to the success of the inaugural Cuimsiú Competition, Mayo Comhaltas can confirm that this competition will go ahead again at the Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo in 2025.
There are four Cuimsiú Competition age groups: Under 12; 12-15; 15-18; Over 18 (Senior). An adult support person must accompany the competitor for the duration of the competitor's attendance at the Fleadh.

Fleadh Cheoil
Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo 2025 takes place in Ballina with dancing competitions on Bank Holiday Monday May 5th and all other competitions taking place on the 10th and 11th of May. Once available, full details and timetbales will become available here.
Fleadh Cheoil Chonnachta Galway venue has yet to be confirmed but competitions will take place over over three days. All dancing competitions will take place on Friday 4th of July and all other competitions will take on Saturday 5th & Sunday the 6th of July. Full details here.
The All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil will take place in Wexford from the 3rd - 10th of August. Scoil Éigse followed by Fleadh Competitions on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Full details here.

All-Ireland Prize-Winners Dinner
The 2024 All-Ireland Prize-Winners Dinner will take place in Kiltimagh Park Hotel on Saturday 30th of November.
