We are delighted to welcome you to the inaugural Cuimsiú Fleadh competition as part of Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo. The Cuimsiú competition is for people with a disability/additional need(s). This is an opportunity to develop participation in, and enjoyment of Traditional Irish Music Arts for All in Mayo. As this is the inaugural Cuimsiú competition, it is an opportunity for us to learn from this year’s competition and to build on its success. The competition will be confined to Co. Mayo in 2024.

Support Person Guidlines
The competition will take place in Scoil Phadraig, Westport, on Sunday 12th of May.
The timetable is below and can also be found in the Fleadh Clár along with a full list of competitors.
Cuimsiú competition, will be open to a public audience from 12.30pm on Sunday 12th of May. Please note: for some performances there will be no public audience at the request of some of the competitors. The Call Steward will ask the audience to wait outside the room when this arises.
Competition Registration at the Cuimsiú Fleadh Office.
Adjudicators Reports will be available to collect following the competitions from the Cuimsiú Fleadh Office.
Cuimsiú competitor’s photos will be taken in the competition room immediately after the competition. Also, if competitors wish to avail there will be availability of fleadh photographs in the main fleadh office.
Permission slips to record a family member’s performance must be obtained from the Cuimsiú Fleadh Office.
If required, the competitor and support person must organise for their competition, keyboard for instrumental competitors and music for sean-nós dancing competitors.
Fleadh Clár will be available to purchase at the admission door.
